Auckland

When our parents had left we decided to spend some time in Devonport in Auckland to properly catch up with Molly, Stef and Nick as well as relax a bit from our quite intense previous adventures. Below you can see some pictures of Mollys appartment as well as her cat Rita.
The first small trip we did was to Rangitoto Island, a small volcanic island not far from Devonport. We took a path up that took about 2h and was very enjoyable. Well up we were met by stunnning views of Auckland city as well as the archipellago. It is amazing how far you can see if the weather allows it!
We did a really nice day trip to the Goat Island, a marine reserve to try out all our dive gear and the wetsuits we just had bought. Goat Island is amazing in the sense that the fish are very unafraid and big, e.g. we saw huge snappers and Cray fish. It was quite a bit of swell in the water so it took us much longer to get where we had planned to go, so we ended up doing an 80 minute dive.
Back in Auckland we met up with John Hansveden, one of my student friends at Handels. It was great seeing him and as it was his 25th birthday we arranged a little dinner in the evening.
